Clicking "Download now" means you agree to the Microsoft service agreement and privacy statement. The download may include updates to Windows Live programs you already have. You'll get future updates to these and other Microsoft programs from Microsoft Update.

Essentials includes Messenger, Photo Gallery, Mail, Movie Maker, Writer, Family Safety, and Toolbar, plus Microsoft Office Outlook Connector, Office Live Add–in, and Microsoft Silverlight.
Note: Movie Maker is only available for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Photo Gallery automatically finds the people in your photos so you can add a name to the face. Then later, all you need to do is type in someone’s name to see all the photos of that person.

See your friends' photos too

See new photos from the people you’ve added to your Windows Live network. Photo Gallery shows you any new shots they’ve shared with you on Windows Live.

Show off your best shots

Share your photos in just a few clicks—add them to an online album, send them in e‑mail, or order prints. And you're in control of who gets to see them online.

Your best shots, even better

Select "Auto Adjust" for one-click editing. Or get more hands-on—tweak exposure, color, or detail by hand. Either way, your favorite memories look just as good as you remember.
